Synopsis

Left a widower, Data, a train engineer, is forced to leave his two young children without a caretaker. Anxious to remarry, he proposes to his girl friend, Teo, but she turns down his proposal because she is unwilling to care for another woman's children. Later, Nato, a student, brings home the children after Giya, Data's son, is nearly struck by a truck. Nato and Data grow to love each other and marry, and the children begin to enjoy a family life again. Giya's upbringing poses certain problems, but Nato gradually gains his trust. The family's happiness is disturbed by the return of Teo, who rekindles Data's former feelings. He eventually runs off with Teo, and Nato in turn decides to leave the house. As her train begins to leave the station, however, she sees her stepchildren running down the tracks after her; and she jumps down to join them. The family is reunited, stronger than before.
