Synopsis
En route from Athens to the island of Throxsas, Jason Philippi [Philippou], although attracted to Hope Linghens, is seduced by Alexis, the unhappy wife of wealthy industrialist Yarkos [Phokas]. Arriving on Throxsas, Al Maharis [Makris], a private detective hired by Yarkos to spy on his wife, informs Yarkos of her infidelity. Maharis and Alexis, secret lovers, plot Yarkos' murder. Yarkos, overhearing their plans, kills Alexis and wounds Maharis, who collapses in the boat where he has hidden jewels stolen from Yarkos. Yarkos frames Jason, but Hope, now in love with Jason, provides him with an alibi. Maharis, discovered the following day, confesses the truth.
