Synopsis

Circus acrobats Suzanne Perry and Hanne Weaver appear in three sequences, a total of 45 minutes in length, which focus on muscularity as an erotic attribute of the ultimate woman. In two of the segments, Suzanne Perry performs on a trapeze in the studio of avant-garde dancers Patricia Brown Schlichter and Joseph Schlichter. In the third segment, Hanne Weaver is seen engaged in everyday activities such as washing dishes, trying on clothes, playing with flowers from an admirer, and lying on a bed dreaming. The soundtrack provides a male contrast, as three writers--art critic David Bourdon and poets Michael Benedikt and Emmett Williams--discuss the acrobats and the visual segments. Their discussions also comprise four purely audio passages which separate the visual sequences.
