Synopsis
Kaji and Kikumori, friendly rivals in the army, go their separate ways after the war; Kaji becomes chief stevedore for a shipping firm, and Kikumori becomes manager of a nightclub. A series of suspicious accidents at the shipping firm brings Kaji to Kikumori's club to obtain information, but Kikumori does not tell his friend that he has turned away gangsters wanting him to help take over the shipping firm. The gangsters use Toshio, the son of the company's president, who is in love with Harumi, a singer in the club and also a member of the gang, to obtain control of the company's stock. Toshio discovers Harumi's treachery after his father is killed, and in a desperate move to save the company, he forces its directors to accept a highly dangerous but profitable shipment of explosives. Kikumori foils an attempt by the gang to murder him, but while he is watching Kaji and his men load the explosives, the gang leader orders him at gunpoint to explode the cargo. In the gunplay that follows, Kikumori is shot protecting Kaji, leaving his friend to fight the gang alone.
