Synopsis

In the California gold rush town of Sonora, the wife and brother of Joaquín Murrieta, a peaceful prospector, are brutally murdered by five miners. Vowing to have revenge on all gold miners, Murrieta organizes a band of outlaws and sets out on a campaign of terror. Three hundred die at the hands of his gang, and all attempts to trap him fail. It is only when the Texas Rangers, led by Capt. Harry Love, meet the outlaws in a gun battle that Murrieta is finally slain, along with his henchman "Three Fingers" Jack. Despite his murderous deeds, he is mourned by the Mexican peasants because he had often brought them generous gifts.
