Synopsis

Norma, a mental patient with a horribly disfigured face, escapes from a sanatarium and persuades Dr. Taylor, who has perfected a new system of plastic surgery, to experiment on her. After restoring her beauty, he realizes that she is a fugitive, but Norma knocks him unconscious and steals a bottle of preserving lotion, which must be applied regularly to maintain her new face. Eventually she finds work as a hotel waitress, but the manager finds out who she is and threatens to expose her. In the ensuing struggle Norma murders him, and the lotion bottle is smashed. Panic-stricken, Norma marries an admiring playboy, and they leave for a honeymoon in Paris. On the way, however, Norma's plastic face disintegrates, and the terrified husband jumps from the car. Quickly returning to Dr. Taylor's laboratory to replenish her supply of the special formula, she attacks the doctor's assistant and falls on some broken glass. The police arrive and find Norma dead on the floor; as the preservative flows from a broken vial onto her face, her beauty is restored.
