Synopsis
The little mountain town of Jonkborn seeks a subsidy from the Austrian Bureau of Tourism. To attract tourists, Nils Hansen, the mayor of the town, hires Leif, a press agent, who publicizes the local legend of a fountain that gives sexual virility to men and beauty to women. Indeed, many of the townspeople bathe at the fountain and then enjoy the pleasures of sex. At the fountain's most potent hour, the harvest full moon, women bathe nude in its water. The minister of tourism, outraged by the publicity campaign, sends one of her subordinates, Knobbe, to investigate. The mayor, fearing the loss of the subsidy, orders a 3-day moratorium on sex, and one of the villagers dams the spring that fills the fountain. After snooping around the village, Knobbe asks the minister to come to his aid, but he is given a glass of springwater that changes his outlook. Meanwhile busloads of tourists arrive to partake of the springwater. Disappointed to find the fountain dry, they start to leave, but one of the peasants unblocks the spring and word quickly spreads. Soon the minister of tourism arrives and claims the spring for the state. The town is prosperous and everyone is happy.
