Synopsis

Religious rites and taboos depicted include: the Muslim 5-minute divorce; a funeral on the sacred Ganges River; Catholic mass offered for a group of lepers; scenes of East Indian gurus, sacred cows and elephants, and a Buddhist priest and his mother. Sexual and medical topics include: childbirth, atom bomb victims, Japanese public bathing, and drug addicts selling their children into slavery or prostitution to support their habits.
