Synopsis

During the early 20th century, Saburo Watari is on his way to his new position as judo instructor at the Shimoda Police Station when he meets Akiko, the daughter of Shimzu, the instructor Saburo is replacing. Tsujido, Shimzu's favorite pupil, becomes jealous of Saburo's romantic involvement with Akiko and unsuccessfully challenges the new instructor to a duel. Saburo is provoked into a fight with some naval officers and loses his post as a result. With the aid of an Okinawan karate expert, Tsujido once more challenges Saburo, who now accepts. Saburo wins both the duel and the right to Akiko's hand.
