Synopsis
Tamamo, a beautiful girl, discovers she is really a nine-tailed fox and her purpose in life is to enslave all people to the King of Darkness. Frightened by this revelation, she flees to Kyoto, but everyone there is attracted to her beauty and, in spite of herself, she begins to carry out her destiny. She orders all statues of Buddha destroyed and an enormous statue of herself erected in their place. Tobimaru, a youth whom Tamamo has known since childhood, follows her to Kyoto and, seeing her purpose, destroys the statue. Tamamo flees to her ancestral home, but as she runs, she is turned to stone.
