Synopsis

Kojiro Sasaki, the adopted son of a medieval lord, is an ambitious young man of peasant lineage who is determined to become the most famous swordsman in Japan despite the feudal tradition which reserves such honors for born noblemen. After earning the enmity of the samurai because of his skill, he realizes that he must prove his prowess in combat. He sets out, taking with him his foster sister. After involving himself in a feud between the Toyotomi and the Tokugawa clans, Kojiro builds a formidable reputation by cutting down many worthy opponents. Kojiro's love conquests, including the Okinawa Princess, are almost as numerous as his conquests by sword. Showered with gifts from rich men and with favors from beautiful women, Kojiro is on the threshold of achieving his lifelong dream. Only Musashi Miyamoto, the nation's legendary samurai hero, stands in his way. When Kojiro faces the invincible warrior, Kojiro is tragically defeated.
