Synopsis

Gordon Eastman takes his two sons on a journey to the wilds of British Columbia. It begins with 250,000 snow geese flying north for the summer. Eastman's "safari" stops at Bella Colla Valley, where Eastman fishes for the mighty steelhead, considered the world's finest trophy fish. Moving on to the most northern regions, where the Eastmans live with Indians, they trap beaver, build boats of spruce wood covered with the skins of freshly-killed moose, and travel in these craft down 200 miles of wild water. In the mountain country, Eastman's camera observes the treacherous grizzly bear leaving his winter den and the caribou and elk in their age-old battle for existence. As fall comes and the snow geese leave on their flight south, the Eastmans end their safari by hunting the largest sheep in North America, the stone sheep.
