Synopsis

The year is 2012 and individualism has almost vanished in Finland. Raimo, a symbol of the new classless and politically repressive society, is a successful television producer who makes influential films that reorder history to support the current ideology. He begins filming a melodrama about the 1970's, focusing on the life of a salesgirl killed in an automobile accident in 1976. A number of his employees are clandestine revolutionaries, who object to Raimo's distortion of the past. They are involved in planning a strike against an atomic power plant, but their chief hope is to expose Raimo's manipulative filmmaking techniques. Although the revolutionaries fail, Raimo is last seen celebrating the success of his movie in a drunken stupor, while his inflatable chair deflates.
