Synopsis

Three black veterans of the Vietnam War are interviewed. They explain that they have undergone more oppression at home in the United States and among their American comrades abroad than at the hands of the Vietnamese. They contend that national priorities set up by white society do not meet black peoples' needs and that promises made to black veterans, that upon their return to the United States their newly-acquired skills would advance their status in society, have not been fulfilled. Contrasted with the interview are sequences of the preparation for the 1967 Spring Mobilization March in Harlem and of interviews with spectators at the demonstrations that followed.
