Synopsis

The British Secret Service assigns Nigel to a mission so secret that even he cannot be told about it. Instead, he is sent to Canada, and told to open an explanatory packet several weeks after his arrival. Meanwhile, in one of the provinces, Jacqueline, the last of the Bourbons, makes plans to restore the French monarchy in Canada. She and her conspirators kidnap Nigel and try to make him reveal the purpose of his mission, but unaware of it himself, he remains silent. During his captivity, Nigel and Jacqueline fall in love, and as a result, she helps him escape. Then, Nigel opens the packet, and discovers that his task is to marry Jacqueline, and thereby annul her claim to the throne. Suddenly unconcerned with the perpetuation of the Bourbons, Jacqueline quickly agrees to do her utmost for England and help Nigel complete his mission successfully.
