Synopsis
After a boy is wrongly convicted of a crime on the basis of circumstantial evidence given by his fiancée, an old man saves the boy's romance by telling of another case. The old man believed his own son to be guilty of bank robbery because of circumstantial evidence. The son's career was ruined, and he suffered a long imprisonment and died miserably.

Some scenes of this film were shot in St. Augustine, FL, where the original story takes place. Some scenes were shot at the home of retired cotton king D. Ramsey Moore, and at the Federal Prison in Atlanta, GA. The film was shown in New York in July 1916 to an invited audience which included the police commissioner, the secretary to the mayor, and various legislators.
