Synopsis

Norma Hardacre keeps her social-climbing mother in a state of constant disapproval as she tears around on unmanageable horses and throws her boots at the picture of her fiancé. To please her parents Norma consents to marry the wealthy Morland, although her heart belongs to Padgate, a young artist living in impoverished circumstances. At the wedding ceremony, Morland is denounced by the father of a girl he has compromised, but Padgate, wishing to save Norma from unhappiness, bears the dishonor by pronouncing himself the guilty man. Padgate's sacrifice forces Norma to realize the magnitude of her love for him, and she rushes from the altar to his studio "where love is."
