Synopsis
After she rescues Jack Stanton from an angry mob of his disgruntled coal miners, Marion Livingston meets Howard Stanton, Jack's brother. While Jack recuperates from the attack, Howard comes to visit and falls in love with Marion. The couple marries and moves to New York where Marion becomes a society matron. Both bored with their lives, Howard and Marion drift apart, with Howard finding solace in the arms of an adventuress, Nina Blakemore, and a dejected Marion courting the attentions of Oliver Whitney. When Howard and Nina are involved in an automobile crash, a gossip newspaper prints rumors of a Stanton divorce. Shocked by the article, Marion vows to fight for the man she truly loves by staging an elaborate dinner party to which she invites Nina and several of her former romantic conquests. The men are extremely uncomfortable in Nina's presence, and Marion, dressed in fine fashion, outshines her rival. Finally realizing the error of his ways, Howard asks Marion's forgiveness, and the couple happily reconciles.
