Synopsis

After reading about a daring robbery in the newspaper, wealthy young Gregory Kirkland bets his friends that he can steal and secretly return the fabulous diamond tiara, the Sultana, from its designer, Robert Sautrelle. While Sautrelle is visiting the Kirkland home, Gregory steals the tiara, but before returning it, he loses his nerve and convinces another guest, Virginia Lowndes, to accomplish the rest of the task for him. Later, Virginia elopes with her suitor, Count Strelitso, but when, en route to the city, she tells him of her promise to Gregory, the count demands the Sultana, and Virginia flees into the woods. Kirkland's butler, who has followed Virginia in hopes of seizing the tiara, pursues her and is killed by bandits, but Dr. Thomas Mills, the Kirklands' friend, soon appears to assist her. In the end, the Sultana is restored to its rightful owner, while Virginia and the doctor declare their mutual love.
