Synopsis

The young Lord Mainwaring travels to California from England to regain his health and to attend to business matters for his father. He stays in the Sierras with his father's friend, wealthy lumberjack John Bradley, and falls in love with Bradley's daughter, who nurses him to health. Minty, the blacksmith's untutored, tomboyish daughter, falls in love with Mainwaring. When Mainwaring's letter of proposal to Bradley's daughter never reaches her, he concludes that she has refused him. Having lost all his money, Mainwaring leaves California. Minty's father strikes a gold vein, and years later, the wealthy Minty meets the destitute Mainwaring in Switzerland. After she saves him from death, they fall in love and marry.

Notes

Some scenes in this film were shot at the California Motion Picture Corp.'s mountain headquarters in Boulder Creek, CA in the redwood region. The film was scheduled to be released on May 31, 1915, but was delayed because of heavy rains. The delayed release May be the reason that the film was not reviewed by the motion picture trade papers. Photographs from the film included in the California Motion Picture Corp. studio records are labelled with the title Minty's Triumph; it is unclear if the film was ever exhibited under this title.
