Synopsis

Williams, an alcoholic, beats his wife to death and is sentenced to fifteen years in prison, forcing his daughter Masie to earn her living in a cabaret. While working as a dancer, Masie meets a kind rancher whom she eventually marries. Soon, however, she tires of ranch life and deserts him during a roundup. Returning to the city, Masie becomes the mistress of a wealthy socialite, but upon learning that he is married, she denounces and leaves him. Poor and dissolute, Masie becomes a scrubwoman in the cabaret, where she is discovered by her husband. He carries her back to the ranch, where she finally dies.
