Synopsis

Gordon, the son of the head of a notorious gang of smugglers, is given the opportunity to see the world before he must settle down to his pre-determined life of crime. During his time away from the smugglers' cave, Gordon falls in love and marries Marian Williams, then forgets about returning home. His father finally lures Gordon back by sending a message that he is dying. Gordon, Marian, and their small child go to the father, after which Marian is separated from her husband and child and only manages to survive by the kindness of Jim, the paymaster at a lumber camp. Marian has no memory of her past life and marries Jim. Several years later, after giving birth to another child, Gordon shows up at the lumber camp, thus jarring Marian's memory. The two husbands decide to settle their problem in a duel, but Gordon, feeling that Marian's happiness lays with Jim, puts only blanks into his gun and is killed by Jim.
