Salisbury to Central and South America include Port Limon, Costa Rica; the banana industry in Costa Rica; the buildings and the Government Lottery in San José, Costa Rica; a total eclipse of the sun; the sugar industry in Costa Rica; animal life in Central America; Fort San Lorenzo in the Canal Zone; the Gatun Spillway; the cocoa industry; and tarpon fishing on the Chagres River in the Canal Zone.

This film was the second of three films of sixteen reels total copyrighted by Grand Feature Film Co. of Dr. Edward A. Salisbury's expedition to Central and South America. This film was also called In the Pirate Haunts.
