Film Details
Synopsis
Gold miner Billy Blair's neglect of his young wife Ethel results in her running away with a man from the city just as Billy hits pay dirt. Billy's friends bring Ethel and the city man back and hand Billy a gun to kill them, but Billy declines, telling the man that he will kill him with his bare hands if Ethel is ever mistreated. Years later, Billy, now wealthy, learns that Ethel, deserted by the city man, has jumped off a bridge. Although she is rescued, Ethel dies in Billy's arms after he finds her in a hospital, and Billy tracks down the city man. After a brutal fight, Billy is about to strangle his foe when the man's little daughter enters the room, causing Billy to forsake his revenge and ride away.

Notes
Ads for the film appeared in trade papers in January 1918, but it is unclear whether the film saw wide release. According to the records of the Community Motion Picture Bureau, the film was a two-reeler when the Bureau viewed it in 1920, and existing prints of the film are two reels long, but a review of the film in a British trade journal lists it as 4,800 feet. The name Modern Method Producing Co. appears on existing prints of the film, but no contemporary source mentioning this name has been located.
