Synopsis
Vincent, a dissolute and wealthy young man, toys with the affections of Kitty Trent, who believes that he intends to marry her. Marriage is the furthest thing from Vincent's mind, however, until Tom Wilson, Kitty's childhood sweetheart, intervenes and forces a shotgun wedding. After the birth of their child, Vincent begins to date other women and Kitty desperately turns to Tom once more. One night, after Vincent's father has denounced Kitty as an adventuress, Vincent arrives home to find his wife sobbing in Tom's arms. A fight ensues in which Tom is shot by Vincent's friend, who then falls to his death down a flight of stairs. After the melee, Vincent retreats to his grandfather's house and his father, discovering Kitty's purity and innocence, offers refuge to his daughter-in-law and grandchild. Tom's death prompts Vincent to recognize the error of his ways, and he begins life anew with his wife and child.
