Synopsis
Driven frantic by the merciless blackmailing techniques of Estrella Santos, whom he had known in his old prospecting days and who claims that he killed her husband, Luke Rodin, a Wall Street operator engaged to debutante Alice Campbell, kills his tormentor. The jury and judge know Rodin to be guilty, but his life is saved by a technical flaw in the case: that the body of the dead woman has not been found. Rodin may have been acquitted by the court, but he is pronounced guilty by Alice, who breaks the engagement. Alice's rejection drives Rodin to suicide and justice is served.
