Synopsis

Having learned that her sweetheart is engaged to another woman, Celia Ford marries Jerome Duncan, whom she does not love. Shortly after the ceremony, the new husband finds his wife in her former lover's arms and divorces her. Later, Celia gives birth to a little girl, who is left homeless when she and her sweetheart are killed in an automobile accident. Shirley Ford, Celia's sister, takes the child to her home in the city, where she meets Jerome, who has come East under an assumed name to find his daughter. Shirley and Jerome fall in love, but when by chance she discovers his real identity, she denounces him, having been led to believe that he deserted Celia. She finally learns of her sister's guilt through a letter, whereupon her doubts about Jerome's character disappear.
