Synopsis
Sylvia, upon her return from boarding school after a long absence, is informed by her father that a man exists whose death would be the only thing that would bring her father peace of mind. While riding in the park one day, her father sees the man and attempts to shoot him, but has a heart attack and dies. Her heart filled with revenge, Sylvia decides to carry out her father's plan by killing the man herself. While visiting a notorious part of town, Sylvia is attacked by thugs, but a young fellow rescues her. Later, she meets the same man at a dance and discovers that he is her father's bitterest enemy. One night, after the opera, she follows the man and learns that he has rifled a safe. Sylvia turns him over to the authorities, and it is then that she learns that the man is actually a Secret Service agent and that her father was a spy. Discovering the truth, Sylvia relinquishes all thoughts of revenge and finds happiness with her Secret Service agent.
