Synopsis

Grouchy old millionaire Joseph Snow, believing that all his relatives have designs on his money, decides to frustrate his greedy relations by pretending to die and leaving all his money to Abby Lou Maynard, a poor little girl who works in an antique shop. Instead of dying however, Snow hides himself in a secret room in his mansion from which he can watch the behavior of the entire household. Through the secret panel in the wall, Snow watches as Abby exercises the great power which her newly found wealth has given her to right the wrongs of parsimony perpetrated by her benefactor. Imbued with the spirit of romance by Abby's generosity, Snow unmasks himself at a costume ball, declares that Abby has comported herself admirably and adopts her as his daughter.
