Synopsis
Country girl Nan Floyd is greatly attracted to artist Vincent Schuyler, who comes to the countryside to paint. The attraction is mutual, but when Vincent announces his engagement to a society girl, Nan turns in rejection to Bert Tyler, the most eligible young man in town. One night while out for a drive, Nan and Tyler are detained and arrive home quite late. Nan's father Dan, in a drunken frenzy, believes that his daughter has been violated and shoots and kills Tyler. Dan is brought to trial for murder, and it falls within Nan's power to save her father by testifying that Tyler had compromised her. Nan resolves to sacrifice her reputation to save her father, but when Dan dies of a heart attack, the truth wins out and Nan's name is cleared. Vincent, hearing of the trial, returns and is reunited with Nan.
