Synopsis

Claire Masters, the daughter of a wealthy financier, has inherited her father's strong will, and so upon the death of her mother, defies her father's edict against women working, leaves home and ventures into the business world. In her endeavor, she is helped by Ralph Burnham, the son of a rival brokerage house owner, and the two fall in love. Under an assumed name, Claire secures a job in her father's offices and discovers that he is involved in a crooked deal to destroy the Burnham's brokerage house. Claire secures evidence that would convict her father in a court of law and confronts him with it, along with a letter written by her late mother entreating Claire to guard her father against his ambition. Confronted with these facts, Masters then realizes the error of his ways, forgives his daughter and blesses her marriage to Burnham, changing his firm's name to Masters, Burnham and Burnham.
