Synopsis

Stockbroker Charles Bainbridge ends his romance with Madge to marry Marie, a blind woman, whom he met in the mountains. Hoping to forget all about high finance for a while, Charles leaves his business interests in the hands of Taylor, his partner, who, unknown to Charles, holds a grudge against him. As a result, with Madge's help, Taylor bankrupts Charles, thereby forcing him and Marie to move into a tenement. Charles then dies in a street fight, after which Madge, still vindictive, plans to ruin Marie completely. The sight of Marie's baby makes Madge change her mind, however, and convinces her to become a nun. Then, Bob Summers, an artist, who knew Marie in the mountains and who has admired her for months, makes a marriage proposal to her which she unhesitatingly accepts.
