Synopsis

In South America, Lopez, a revolutionary leader, falls in love with Juana, who has been raised in absolute seclusion by her aristocratic father. When Lopez takes Juana to the rebel camp, the complete change in life style totally alters her personality, as she goes from a young innocent dependent upon her duenna to a worldly vamp. Then, Jerry Mandeville, an American who was jilted by his sweetheart Dagmar, joins the rebel forces, hoping to forget his disappointment. He ignores Juana when she tries to make him love her, but later, Everett Chase, the man Dagmar married instead of Jerry, falls easy prey to Juana's charms after he and his wife arrive in South America on business. Dagmar then realizes her mistake and returns to Jerry after fighting between the revolutionaries and the government leaves Lopez and Everett dead. Finally, realizing that the two men over whom she had an almost hypnotic control have died, Juana commits suicide.
