Synopsis
Rev. Walter Ross, a minister who rescues Grace, a young woman who has left home and begun an affair with a white slaver, brings her to his associate Ruth, who recounts her own story as a lesson to the woman. Ruth's father Salvatore had tried to kill her, but Rev. James Spencer saved her and then made Ruth his ward. Years later, after Salvatore was released from prison, he vowed revenge on Spencer, and plotted to kidnap his ward, whom he did not know was Ruth, and sell her into white slavery. The abduction was successful, but before Salvatore could put his prisoner on the market, the police tracked him down, and after making sure he learned that he kidnapped his own daughter, killed him. Then Ruth, who had been engaged to Ross, renounced matrimony and promised to devote the rest of her life to assisting wayward young women.
