Synopsis
Ruth Brooks is devoted to Colonel Troutwood, the wealthy politician who adopted her, until she learns that he has been buying votes. Then, when he tries to seduce her, she leaves him. Eager now to expose Troutwood, she goes to his political rival, District Attorney Sulfin, but when she learns that he also is completely corrupt, she leaves him as well. Then, Dr. Hilton, one of her dead mother's old sweethearts, locates Ruth after years of searching. They soon fall in love, and Ruth, finally having found a man she can trust, agrees to marry him.
