Synopsis
When she leaves her home in the slums, Zelma finds work with Paul Jerome, a casino owner who uses her to fleece his customers. Unable to tolerate the job, Zelma tries to kill herself, but Martin, a young minister, manages to stop her. Martin lets her stay at his home, and he and Zelma soon fall in love. Paul tracks her down, however, and then, while romancing Martin's sister Ruth, tells Martin about Zelma's past. Martin, initially, is stunned, but then, after Zelma convinces Ruth to end her relationship with Paul, he forgives her and makes plans to marry her.
