Synopsis

Gambler Al Spencer deserts his wife and infant daughter Nell to escape a murder charge, after which the wife dies and Nell is taken in by John and Nancy Springer, two crooks who teach her all the tricks of their trade. Years later, their plan to rob the home of successful businessman Albert Sprague misfires, as Albert's son and wife die and Nell gets caught. From the evidence introduced at Nell's trial, Albert, who changed his last name years before, realizes that the accused is the daughter he deserted when she was just a baby. As a result, he uses his influence to convince the judge to pardon her, after which the reunited father and daughter slowly arrive at a reconciliation.
