Notes

This film, the first made by the Franklin Film Mfg. Co., was originally entitled The Wild Rose. Exteriors and interiors were shot at the Liberty Motion Picture Co. studios in Germantown, PA. Finished late in 1915, the film ran into difficulties with the Pennsylvania censors and was at least temporarily banned in that state. It is unclear whether the film was ever released. A five reel film entitled The Wolf and the Girl, submitted to the Community Motion Picture Bureau, appears to have the same plot as Virtue and is probably the same film. The records of the Bureau give "Markason" as the distributor of The Wolf and the Girl.
