Synopsis

After Helen Scott inherits a prosperous cannery business from her father, she buries herself in the Florida social life and leaves the running of the company to her hard-nosed uncle. While sailing, her yacht collides with a schooner and although she is rescued by its captain, a blow to her head erases her memory. Homeless and penniless, Helen accepts an offer from Jennie, the captain's daughter, to work in her cannery where Harvey Brooks, the factory manager, woos her. In turn, she defends him against the accusations of the workers who hold him responsible for the injustices of the company. The workers instigate a strike, slug Harvey, tie him up and set fire to his office. Braving the fire, Helen rescues Harvey, and then he saves her from the flames. The shock of the incident jogs Helen's memory, and later she confesses her true identity to Harvey with a promise to work toward bettering the lives of her employees.
