Synopsis

Lieutenant Jack Bradley is engaged to Margaret Lane, a New York society girl. She breaks their engagement without explanation when she discovers the photograph of a beautiful young woman among his things, then she marries Richard Everett, who is also a soldier. Some time later, Everett is a colonel on an army post in Texas when Jack's regiment is assigned to the same post. Margaret meets Jack again and finds that the woman in the photograph is his sister Emily. When she tries to explain to Jack that she still loves him, they are interrupted in a compromising position by Major Prescott who later tells the Colonel. Everett discovers that the two had acted honorably, however, and when he is mortally wounded in battle he makes Jack promise to marry Margaret.
