Synopsis
Kate Clark loses her memory after being hit on the head during her brother Joe's attempt to escape arrest. Artist Richard Harris who is painting a madonna, hires her as his model and falls in love with her, but Kate becomes bored and leaves before the painting is finished. Richard then becomes ill and writes his twin brother Joseph, a small town physician and doctor, about Kate. By coincidence she is brought to Joseph's house after being involved in a train wreck and awakens with no recollection of her recent experience but with her former memory intact. Richard dies before his brother can see him, but Joseph finds the Madonna painting and places it in his church. After various difficulties, Joe dies and Joseph donates the painting to a museum whose patrons do not know that the woman in the painting is his wife.
