Synopsis

Prospector John Graham and his daughter Peggy travel to Blackfoot, Canada to visit Inspector Creighton of the North West Mounted Police. Peggy meets Lieutenant McLoyd, also of the Mounted Police, who just arrived to track down a notorious outlaw, and they fall in love. While walking in the woods with Peggy, McLoyd shoots at a bird. Later, when they come across Graham's body in the underbrush, and Peggy contends that McLoyd's shot killed her father, McLoyd begins an investigation. Creighton's strange actions lead McLoyd to suspect him, until Creighton is also murdered. After Peggy is abducted, McLoyd discovers that she is about to be dropped into a vat of live snakes as a sacrifice by two members of a Hindu secret society called "The Shinto," from which previous members Graham and Creighton stole treasures while they were in India. When McLoyd rescues Peggy, one of the Hindus is thrown into the vat. McLoyd and Peggy later marry.
