The only sources for information about this film were an ad (Motion Picture News April 3, 1915, pp. 190-91) stating that Marguerite Clayton and Emory Johnson were to be in it; an ad (Moving Picture World September 11, 1915, pp. 1904-05) stating that the film was coming; and a news item (Motion Picture News October 23, 1915, p. 44) stating that it had just been completed with Miss E. O. Lindblom in the featured role, and that it would be shortly released by the Associated (Associated Film Sales Corp.). Another title, The Birthmark, with Marguerite Clayton and Emory Johnson, was listed in later Associated ads as coming. This May have been the same film as The Black Heart. The Associated appears to have disbanded in December 1915 without having released the film. No further information has been located concerning the film's release. Miss E. O. Lindblom May be Sadie Lindblom, who is listed in MPSD as acting in Liberty films. The Liberty Film Mfg. Co. was organized by S. Lindblom.
