Synopsis

When Jack Green returns from college to the rough-house shore hotel that his wealthy father Adam runs, he sends Adam to vacation in New York, while he renovates the hotel. In New York, Adam becomes infatuated with soubrette Nell Lavelle. Later, when her impoverished theatrical troupe stops at Adam's hotel, Mason, the leading man, and Eppstein, the manager, persuade Adam to finance them. Adam agrees, on the condition that Nell becomes the female lead. Meanwhile, Jack, whose earlier romance with Nell ended because she would not give up the stage, quarrels with her and leaves. On the road, Nell discovers Mason and Eppstein's scheme and quits. After they kidnap Adam to get money from Jack, Nell rescues Adam, who then gives money to all the troupe to return home, except Mason and Eppstein, who have to walk. Adam is preparing to propose to Nell when he learns of her romance with Jack. He conceals his love and offers his blessing, as Nell, now sick of the stage, becomes Jack's wife.
