Hearts Adrift
Film Details
Synopsis
Nina, a twelve-year-old girl, is the sole survivor of a Spanish shipwreck. She lives for five years on a South Sea island with a gentle wolf as her only companion until John Graham, another shipwreck victim, arrives. Not knowing that his wife has been rescued and returned to civilization, John pursues Nina and they fall in love. They perform a primitive marriage ceremony, and sometime later Nina gives birth to a child. John is unable to forget the memory of his wife, however, and one day, when a ship arrives on the island carrying a rescue party, they are reunited. Nina, seeing their embrace, runs in despair to the edge of the island's volcano where, clutching her baby to her, she jumps into the bubbling lava.
