Synopsis
After discovering a rich silver deposit, Luke Hughes draws a map to his mine and plans on recording the claim. During his journey to the registrar's office, however, Luke is set upon by a bandit who steals the map. During the ensuing chase, Luke regains his map and meets Lila Parsons, who mistakenly believes that Luke is himself an outlaw. To persuade her of his innocence, Luke tells her that his wallet contains a photograph of her, which he obtained when he visited her father recently. Intrigued, Lila retains Luke's wallet until she can verify his story with her father. Soon after, two hooded men attack the couple in order to steal the map. Unknown to Lila, one of the men is her father, but Luke succeeds in rescuing her. The men register the mine in Lila's name, after which Luke arrives and forces the registrar to marry him to Lila. Luke then escapes, and the father confesses the truth to Lila about his criminal actions. Together, they go to Luke's mountain cabin and there find him engaged in a battle with outlaw Stevens and his gang, who take them prisoner. Luke outwits the criminals and hands them over to the authorities.
