My Husband's Friend

"The story tells of a busy husband who asks his friend to take his wife about. One night the friend escorts the wife home, pretends to leave the house but does not. The husband discovers his wife in the friend's arms in her room. She declares her innocence, claiming she mistook the friend for her husband. The husband enraged, takes his son and leaves her and their daughter. Years pass. The wife opens a questionable gambling place. Here, her son whom she does not recognize, comes to gamble and falls in love with his own sister. The girl, however, is busy making love to the son of her mother's former lover. She boldly tries to seduce him but without success. Meanwhile the father, looking for the son, discovers his wife. She reiterates her innocence so the father goes to his one time 'friend' for proof. The friend satisfies the husband with his story, and faith in his wife is once more restored." (New York State license records.)
