Synopsis
This picture begins as President Woodrow Wilson signs the Declaration of World War I, thus spurring civilians to enlist in the Armed Forces. The scene then shifts to the Army training camps wehre raw recruits are molded into seasoned soldiers. Their training completed, the troops board ships bound for French soil and upon landing, proceed to battle. Back in America, meanwhile, civilians contribute to the war effort by buying Liberty Bonds and Savings Stamps. As dead and wounded servicemen are shown returning home from the front, General Pershing decorates some American soldiers for their heroism in battle. After many combat scenes, Armistice is declared and the American Army of Occupation takes control of the Rhine. Troops then board the transport ships to sail to New York where they are greeted by the cheers of the crowd. With the war over, President Wilson sails for Versailles where he meets with other world leaders to formulate the Treaty of Versailles.
