Synopsis

Bad guy "Breed" Saunders carries a tattoo on his right forearm and a $1,000 price on his hide. About to be captured by a pursuing posse, he steals the horse of good-natured "Flash Lightnin'," who is playing with his dog. Flash gives chase on Saunders' foaming steed, but the posse chases Flash to the ranch of crooked skinflint Caleb Flint. Flint is looking for an impersonator to pose as Richard Coakley, the rightful heir to a ranch where a gold vein has been uncovered. When the sheriff and his posse arrive, Flint and henchman Ed Wiley blackmail Flash into posing as Coakley and send him to the ranch where "Ol' Man" Coakley's pretty ward, Edith Willett, and her stern nursemaid, Aunt M'liss, are in residence. Breed turns up at Flint's place, with the saddlebags full of letters to the real Coakley, and is taken for the rightful heir. The three nefarious gents confront Flash and Edith with their ruse, but Flash reveals himself to be the real Richard Coakley, and packs Saunders and Co. off to jail, sticking around to see just what kind of girl his father reared, while Bullet keeps Aunt M'liss' censorial tendencies at bay.
