Contemporary sources also note that producer Nancy Naumberg was a member of the New York Film and Photo League, and that co-producer James Guy belonged to the Communist affiliated John Reed Club. Modern sources indicate that Naumberg directed the picture, and that it was filmed in Pennsylvania
